“Why is a raven like a writing desk?”

It’s a question that haunts the pages of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, a riddle without an answer — an unsettling mystery that lingers in the mind. Much like the stories that take root in the shadows of E.M. Torrance’s mind, this space is where riddles become nightmares, ideas fester into obsessions, and works in progress claw their way toward the light… or deeper into the dark.

Here, you’ll find a glimpse of projects in the making — unfinished tales dripping with dread, unpolished visions of terror, and raw fragments of horror that are still taking shape. Some will emerge as fully-formed monstrosities; others may remain haunting echoes on this desk.

Project FALSE SHEPHERD

Current state:
WIP, prologue only (as of April, 2025)

Concept:
Something evil has awakened. Something unfathomably ancient and unfathomably hungry. Starved for centuries upon centuries, it finally encounters its first chance for a meal... or, its first chance at escape.

PROJECT HECATE

CURRENT STATE:
WIP, first few chapters (as of April, 2025)

CONCEPT:
When a humble family's farm begins to be plagued by death and rot, a mysterious old hag appears and befriends them. The two young daughters are unknowing heirs to a dark throne, and their coven eagerly awaits their return.

PROJECT LEVIATHAN

CURRENT STATE:
Concept stage (as of April, 2025)

CONCEPT:
The crew of the USS Figueroa have been ordered to the frigid depths of the Antarctic on what they believe is a reconnaissance mission. After encountering a large anomaly and losing contact with Command, they start to suspect the truth... They were never supposed to return.
